Right Now!

  • most gift shopping
  • holiday card designed and sent
  • my wish list created and submitted
  • travel plans made

To Do:

  • one last gift to get for family
  • one gift to get for workplace Kris Kringle exchange
  • wrap gifts
  • buy and decorate tree
  • buy and cook pot roast for work party
  • get massage!

Right now:

  • Rough Guide’s music of the Himalayas playing softly enough that the background of traffic moving gently thru the rain outside my window remains audible.
  • Here and there a horn–not angry, just alerting others, “I’m here too.”
  • From the bedroom the occasional voice of Bobbie’s Pathophysiology (articulation–joints) instructor  coming thru her computer.
  • Fred the cat lies on the ottoman.
  • Mrs. Sipowicz the cat lies on the bed.
  • Jasmine tea brews for me.  Regular for Bobbie.

Right now is the moment to allow past and present, Done and To Do.  Just let them be.  Let them float in and out of awareness without getting caught up in them or the feelings associated with them.  I add milk and sweetener to Bobbie’s tea, bring it to her.  She smiles, kisses me, “Did you think you could get away without a kiss?”  Right now is the moment, and it could not be better.

  1. It is a joyful time for me, because Christmas means so much more for me than presents. I also look at it as a time to remember that it is not only a celebration of the birth of Jesus (yes, I know Dec. 25th is symbolic, not an actual birth date,) but also of a rebirth of hopes, dreams (not very Buddhist, but you get the idea), and connection to family. That’s the joy…love and family. The presents are just a symbol. Nice to get, better to give. Merry Christmas to those who observe it. And yes, my love, I did observe the nifty snowflakes. Happy Holidays to all!

  2. While I was reading your blog the words/music to “Sunday” an old Sinatra record went thru my head. Why? not important; it felt very mellow which is.
    Joyful holidays to you both.
PS Loved the snowflakes; how did you get that to happen?

    • Good old WordPress, the host for the blog, offers the snowflakes as a seasonal extra. They will last until January 4th.

  3. may your spirits always flow gently.

    Your photos are an inspiration!

But my computer screen is raining tiny white dots–what gives? Am I broken?

  4. A Pleasant Monday to the Goldbergs. Your spirituality always permeates your entries. Very up lifting. Gives rise to my mantra for 2010. “We are not prisoners of fate. Our actions matter and can bend history to justice”-President Obama. Keep us focused my Brother. Be Well.

  5. Dear Mr. and Mrs! How I love this photo of you two. Miss you! Lots of love and may 2010 be as unbelievable as it is to write those numbers. Latest new information is….humans have 23,000 genes. An ear of corn has a lot more. Figure it out and there will be a prize.xxx
